About Rugeley...
Ten years ago Pauline Roberts and I, Ruth Dewis, came together and started fundraising for local charities.
As word spread we found that on our days off we were either going to the kennels with donations that we had collected or been delivered to our homes, preparing and doing fund raising events, collecting dogs from the kennels to go to their new homes, per forming home checks and giving the owners advice. As well as taking dogs to the kennels that have been found or their owners can no longer look after them. After homing the dogs we keep in touch with the owners and help them out in any way we can, we are always at the end of the phone.

Fundraising...
We raise money by doing talks to small groups, we do raffles, cake days and car boots when our shifts allow us, we work full time and this is all voluntary.
The money raised also goes to having the dogs neutered, spayed, vaccinated and chipped and help towards costs associated with illnesses they get.
We get a lot of support from very close friends who are more than happy to muscle in with the latest fund raising idea, and help in any way they can, the local pet shops, Bobby from Rainbow Pet Stores, Sue and her staff from Creature Comforts take in any donations for us and advertise the dogs looking for homes along with Helen who run’s a charity shop herself. Stratton’s Veterinary Surgery and No 1 Vets also help out with donations and treatment that the dogs might need.
We have come a very long way, with our friends and supporters, met some very generous and lovely people that have helped us make our charity successful.
